Running a big company is always a hard task since it contains lots of responsibilities and Walmart is that retail giant company which is famous for providing a huge amount of services to its customers. Recently Walmart announced its plan to shift its headquarters to Bentonville, Arkansas, where the company is planning to build 350 acres of large campus. Now, this new HQ if Walmart is quite similar to one of the biggest tech giant company in Silicon Valley because it’s spread in more than 350 acres of land.
On Friday company announced its plan of shifting its HQ into Northwest Arkansas, which is just a few blocks away from the current situation. This new campus will be made of four quads which will be interconnected by walking and bike paths. For larger companies like Walmart, having a perfect headquarter has always been a big issue because Walmart’s old HQ is more than 50 years old. Walmart is one of the biggest retail company which has more than 14000 employees so it won’t be that much hard for these employees to shift to the new HQ since it’s closer to its old location.
In older HQ of Walmart, there were many different sections for employees, which was becoming hard for the company to manage. Walmart’s executive vice president said to the reporters that now all the employees are going to be under the same roof, it will be much easier to manage them. Now this headquarter is similar to Google, Apple, which is made of lots of open spaces, green areas which provide a pleasant working environment to employees. This new campus is also going to give lots of space for informal meetings, bike trails, parking, etc. Overall this decision of shifting into new HQ of Walmart sounds to be a good move from the company’s executives.
